The CBB was awarded a $1 million grant through the Strategic Infrastructure Grant Program of the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA). The IEDA supports and fosters business growth within the state of Iowa. The focus of this specific program is to expand Iowa’s critical infrastructure and technology.

This award allows the CBB to acquire and set up a new 1000-liter pilot-scale fermentor. With this addition, the Center will enhance its biomanufacturing capacity, thereby boosting its contribution to the state’s bioeconomy. This expansion will attract more industrial clients and create new high-quality jobs.
